Sturdy pair of vintage womens black patent leather classic Mary Jane style shoes with " Boulevard"heels from about 1920; The diamond cut-out sides and top-stitching are really unique! The shoe closes on the side by a button of mother of pearl. They have very slight platforms and are softest patent leather.

These vintage Mary Jane shoes would make fantastic dancing shoes, and are perfectly wearable.

They have leather soles AND original box. They are " Walk Over" brand. The style is called Tulsa.
There is a certificate in another box, not this one, that sums up the guarantee " Guaranteeing Shiny Shoes is inviting Trouble"- which explains the marking on the patent.

This is part of a collection we recently procured from Carey's Shoe Store, a store that was established in 1919 in Charlevoix, Michigan. The family recently decided to let go of the remaining stock of the store, about 150 pairs, most new and in their original boxes.

Marked Size: 36, corresponds to a US 6 and comparing to a modern shoe is about right. They are narrow..

Heel: 2 1/4"
Condition: New in Box- perfectly wearable but the tissue was stuck to the patent and removing it marked up the patent. Maybe best for costume unless you can live with it.
